How do I run payroll for a client?¶
As a practice, you can process payroll for any client whose plan includes payroll. The Payroll item in the practice sidebar is part of the premium practice tools, so it needs an active Accountant Practice plan.
Step 1. In the practice sidebar, open Payroll (Practice Payroll). You'll see your clients that have payroll enabled — use the search box to find a client, click the Client column header to sort, and use the pagination controls for longer lists.
Step 2. Click a client to open their payroll Overview, or jump straight in with the Pay Runs or Super buttons on their row.
Step 3. The client's payroll workspace has Overview, Pay Runs, Super, Employees, Workflows and STP Finalisation tabs. You run pay runs, lodge STP and pay super for the client exactly as a business owner would — the guides below apply:

Step 4. At end of financial year, use the STP Finalisation tab to finalise the client's STP for the year. See How do I finalise STP for end of financial year?
Step 5. Use All clients to go back to the list and switch to another client.
If payroll isn't available for a client, add it to their plan on the Billing page.
