How do I manage my practice team?¶
Your practice team lives under Team in the practice sidebar. Team is visible to the practice owner only, and is part of the premium practice tools unlocked by the Accountant Practice plan. Team members you invite can work on the clients you assign to them.
Inviting a team member¶
Step 1. Open Team in the practice sidebar.
Step 2. Click Invite Team Member.
Step 3. Enter their Email, First name and Last name, then click Send invite. They receive a welcome email — with a temporary password if they're new to myaccountant, or a prompt to sign in with their existing password if they already have an account.
The team list shows each member's name, email, how many clients they're assigned, and their status. Use Resend access to send a member a new temporary password if they've lost their login.
Assigning clients to a team member¶
Step 1. On the Team page, click a member's name (or Assign clients) to open their assignment page.
Step 2. Choose how much access they get:
- Practice books — a pinned toggle at the top. Turn it on to give the member access to your practice's own books (your practice's accounting, payroll and reports). This is separate from client access.
- All clients (including future) — give the member access to every client of the practice, including any added later. While this is on, individual client selection below is disabled.
- Individual clients — search the list by name or ABN, tick the clients to add (use Select all on page for bulk selection across pages), then click Assign. Individual (non-business) clients are read-only for team members.
Step 3. To take a client away from a member, click Remove next to an assigned client and confirm. You can re-assign them later. (Per-client Remove isn't shown while All clients (including future) is on — turn that off first.)

Removing a team member¶
On the Team page, use the bin icon next to a member and confirm. They lose access to all assigned clients.
What team members see¶
Team members get the practice workspace for the clients they're assigned, but some areas are owner-only: they don't see the Team page, and practice settings such as Settings → Compliance and Settings → Billing are read-only for them.
