How do I track personal finances?¶
The Personal section helps you track your own money, kept separate from your business.
Step 1. Connect a Personal bank account. In the Bank section, add or connect an account and set its type to Personal — see How do I add a manual bank account? and How do I connect my bank?
Step 2. Categorise your transactions. On the Transactions tab, give each one a personal category. The Categorisation Health bar at the top shows how many are done — your budgets, spending breakdown and tax suggestions all rely on categorised transactions.
Step 3. Use the tabs to see your position for the chosen period:
- Overview — your income, spending and where your money is going.
- Transactions — your personal transactions, to review and categorise.
- Budget & Spending — set budgets and see spending by category. See How do I create a budget?
- Tax — suggestions for transactions that might be tax-deductible.
- Wealth — your assets, debts and overall net position.
- Categories — manage your personal categories.
Use the period dropdown in the top bar to change the time period.
