How do I correct an AI extraction?

When AI extraction finishes, the document shows Needs Review — nothing goes into your books until you've checked the details and accepted them.

Step 1. Go to Documents in the sidebar and click Review on the document's row (the Needs Review filter pill shows everything waiting). The review panel opens with the document on the left and the extracted items on the right — a counter in the header shows how many items you've reviewed.

Step 2. Check each item against the document. An item shows what the AI read — the description and amount, plus the date, GST and supplier ABN where they were found — along with a badge showing how confident the AI was.

Step 3. Fix anything that isn't right using the fields on the item. Changes save automatically as you make them:

  • Save to — whether the transaction belongs to a Business or a Property.
  • Property — which property it belongs to (Property items only).
  • TypeExpense, Income or Payment.
  • Category — the category the transaction will be recorded under. If the AI suggested one, it's shown as the placeholder.
  • Date — the transaction date.

The amount and description can't be edited in the review panel. If the AI misread the amount, Reject the item and add the transaction manually instead.

Step 4. Click Accept to create the transaction in your books — you'll see "Item accepted — transaction created." A category must be selected first (and a property, for Property items); until then the button is disabled and a hint tells you what's missing.

Step 5. Click Reject on any item you don't want — it's marked "Rejected — no transaction created."

If a document produced several items, Accept All and Reject All at the top handle the remaining ones in one go. Once every item is accepted or rejected, the panel shows "All items have been reviewed." and the document moves to Done.

What about Failed extractions?

If the AI couldn't read a document, it shows Failed. A failed attempt doesn't use your monthly allowance. There's currently no button to re-run a failed extraction — delete the document (the bin icon on its row; this also removes the extraction data) and upload it again with Upload & Extract.
