What is Caia?¶

Caia is the AI bookkeeper in Myaccountant. Once it is switched on for a business, Caia works through that business's bank lines every morning. It posts the routine lines into your books itself, and it sets aside the lines it cannot decide on so you can choose how they should be sorted.

What Caia does¶

• Sorts routine bank lines. Caia matches payments to invoices, bills and receipts, settles wages, super and ATO payments against what is owed, and applies your own rules and the history of each supplier.
• Works out GST for each line. The order Caia follows is set out in How does Caia decide GST on my transactions?.
• Checks your books. Each morning Caia lists anything that needs attention in Caia's check of your books.
• Asks you when it is unsure. A line Caia cannot decide on goes under Needs you, with one plain sentence saying why. Caia asks one question per group of lines, not one per line.
• Tells you what it did. Each run adds a message to your notifications, and you can have a daily summary emailed to you.

What Caia does not do¶

• It never lodges your BAS. You lodge it yourself. Caia only stops you lodging while there are lines that still need you in that period.
• It does not guess. If the evidence is not good enough, the line is set aside instead of posted.
• It leaves your own sorts alone. A line you sorted yourself is not changed by Caia.
• It works on Business bank accounts only. Personal, Property and Super accounts are not sorted by Caia.
• It does not fix problems in your books for you. It tells you what it found. Accepting a finding records that you have seen it and changes nothing in your books.

Where to find Caia¶

Select Caia in the sidebar. The page shows Caia's status, the last run, your business profile, the three lanes of work, Caia's check of your books and the daily summary setting.
