Non-concessional contribution

Definition. A non-concessional contribution is an after-tax super contribution made from money you have already paid tax on and do not claim as a deduction, which counts against the non-concessional cap.

In plain English

Non-concessional contributions are amounts you put into super from money you have already paid tax on, and you do not claim them as a tax deduction. The ATO explains these after-tax contributions count towards your yearly non-concessional cap.
