Leave loading

Definition. Leave loading is an extra amount some employees receive on top of their base pay when they take annual leave, where the relevant award or agreement provides for it.

In plain English

Leave loading is a little extra added to your pay while you are on annual leave. Not everyone gets it. Whether it applies, and how much, depends on the award or agreement that covers the job, so it is not an automatic across-the-board bonus.
