W3 — Other amounts withheld¶
Definition. W3 is the Activity Statement box for other amounts you withheld — for example amounts withheld from interest, dividends or royalty payments to certain payees.
In plain English¶
W3 is for withholding that is not wages. The ATO uses it for other amounts you held back — for example from interest, dividends or similar investment payments where the person you paid did not give you their tax file number. If none of this applies to you, you leave W3 blank.
