W1 — Total salary, wages and other payments¶
Definition. W1 is the Activity Statement box for the total salary, wages and other payments you made that are subject to withholding.
In plain English¶
At W1 you put the total (gross) amount of the wages and similar payments you made in the period — the amounts before any tax was taken out. The ATO says this includes things like salary, wages, allowances and leave loading. You still include a payment here even if you did not have to hold any tax back from it.
