Validation

Definition. Validation is the check applied to your Activity Statement before it is accepted, so that errors, such as a figure that does not add up or a missing box, can be fixed before it goes in.

In plain English

Before your Activity Statement is accepted, it gets a quick check to catch obvious problems. For example, if a total does not add up or a required box has been left blank, the check flags it. This gives you the chance to fix the mistake first, so you are not lodging a statement with an error in it.
